Why

Design Decisions was created to give people making decisions about their home quick, reliable access to experienced design judgement. Many layout questions, space challenges or early ideas do not need the structure or cost of a full architectural appointment. Sometimes you simply want clarity. A sense-check. A better way of understanding the potential of a room or plan. This service exists to provide that insight in a simple, approachable and affordable way.

Alongside this, we run an architectural practice, where we work on full residential projects with the detail, rigour and responsibilities that architectural appointments require. Through that work, it became clear that many people need something different: occasional guidance on smaller decisions, early-stage ideas or DIY-led changes. Design Decisions was created to offer exactly that, without the formality or commitment of a traditional appointment.

What

You share photos, notes or sketches. We look at the space, weigh up the options and highlight what is likely to work well and why. The guidance is direct, practical and grounded in real project experience. It is focused design insight with no fuss, no complex process and no long commitment.

This is advisory design support, not architectural work. We do not provide surveys, drawings, planning submissions or technical design, and we do not operate under RIBA terms or the ARB Code of Conduct. If your project would genuinely benefit from full architectural input, we will tell you. You are welcome to contact our architectural practice separately if you choose to progress under the appropriate terms.

How

You gain clarity without the cost or commitment of a full appointment. You avoid common design pitfalls. You make better decisions about your home, supported by professional insight delivered at the moment you need it. And if your project grows into something larger, you move forward already informed, prepared and supported.
