About Design Decisions

Design Decisions was created to give people making decisions about their homes quick, reliable access to experienced design judgement. We found that many layout questions, space challenges or early ideas don’t need the structure or cost of a full architectural appointment. Sometimes you simply want clarity. A sense-check. A better way of understanding the potential of a room or plan. This service exists to provide that insight in a simple, approachable and affordable way.

Alongside Design Decisions, we run an architectural practice where we work on full residential projects with the detail, rigour and responsibilities that architectural appointments require. Through that work, it became clear that many people need something different: occasional guidance on smaller decisions, early-stage ideas or DIY-led changes. Design Decisions was created to offer exactly that, without the formality or commitment of a traditional appointment.

Why this exists

Most people face important design decisions alone. Whether it’s rearranging a room, planning a knock-through, exploring an extension idea or trying to make a space work harder, it can feel difficult to know which option is best. Design Decisions fills that gap by offering skilled, trusted guidance at the point you need it most, without pressure, jargon or long processes.

This is advisory design support, not architectural work. We don’t provide surveys, drawings, planning submissions or technical design. If your project would genuinely benefit from full architectural input, we’ll tell you.
